Bloody Hands on your car window

For your information. ( Very Urgent )

If you see a guy (especially Indian) who rides a motorbike with a
bloody hand knocking on your window demanding you to stop and asking
for tissue paper to clean the blood when you are driving a car,
remember DO NOT stop the car at all. Even if he damages your car or
holds the side mirrors tightly, DO NOT stop the car but drive directly
to the nearest police station. This kind of criminal tactics have been
reported in about 40 cases in Seremba n, K. Lumpur, Shah Alam, P.Jaya
and Klang Town police stations (actually around the whole country).

These guys are mainly Indian gangsters, They work in a group and dare to
commit this crime even in crowded areas where nobody will dare to stop
the car to help you. The main purpose of this dirty tactic is to rob
you and/ or even commit rape if you are female driver driving alone.
Please forward this message to the people you care about.

God did not create the universe, says Hawking

LONDON (Reuters) – God did not create the universe and the “Big Bang” was an inevitable consequence of the laws of physics, the eminent British theoretical physicist Stephen Hawking argues in a new book.

In “The Grand Design,” co-authored with U.S. physicist Leonard Mlodinow, Hawking says a new series of theories made a creator of the universe redundant, according to the Times newspaper which published extracts on Thursday.

“Because there is a law such as gravity, the universe can and will create itself from nothing. Spontaneous creation is the reason there is something rather than nothing, why the universe exists, why we exist,” Hawking writes.

“It is not necessary to invoke God to light the blue touch paper and set the universe going.”

Hawking, 68, who won global recognition with his 1988 book “A Brief History of Time,” an account of the origins of the universe, is renowned for his work on black holes, cosmology and quantum gravity.

Since 1974, the scientist has worked on marrying the two cornerstones of modern physics — Albert Einstein’s General Theory of Relativity, which concerns gravity and large-scale phenomena, and quantum theory, which covers subatomic particles.

His latest comments suggest he has broken away from previous views he has expressed on religion. Previously, he wrote that the laws of physics meant it was simply not necessary to believe that God had intervened in the Big Bang.

He wrote in A Brief History … “If we discover a complete theory, it would be the ultimate triumph of human reason — for then we should know the mind of God.”

In his latest book, he said the 1992 discovery of a planet orbiting another star other than the Sun helped deconstruct the view of the father of physics Isaac Newton that the universe could not have arisen out of chaos but was created by God.

“That makes the coincidences of our planetary conditions — the single Sun, the lucky combination of Earth-Sun distance and solar mass, far less remarkable, and far less compelling evidence that the Earth was carefully designed just to please us human beings,” he writes.

Hawking, who is only able to speak through a computer-generated voice synthesizer, has a neuro muscular dystrophy that has progressed over the years and left him almost completely paralyzed.

He began suffering the disease in his early 20s but went on to establish himself as one of the world’s leading scientific authorities, and has also made guest appearances in “Star Trek” and the cartoons “Futurama” and “The Simpsons.”

Last year he announced he was stepping down as Cambridge University’s Lucasian Professor of Mathematics, a position once held by Newton and one he had held since 1979.

“The Grand Design” is due to go on sale next week.

The original Mangalitsa pigs came from Austria and Hungary.

I know you’ve heard of a woolly mammoth, but did you know there’s actually such a thing as a woolly pig? Well, there is, and it’s called Mangalitsa.

Seen from a distance, these pigs look like sheep, and it’s only when you spot their snouts and hear their growl, that you realize they’re actually pigs. Commonly referred to as “sheep-pigs” these strange breed is called Mangalitsa, and it’s on the brink of extinction. That’s right, even though their wool makes them very resistant, both in summer and winter time, it doesn’t do a damn thing against man’s appetite.

Mangalitsa pigs originated from Austria and Hungary, and they come in three color varieties: blond, brunette and redhead. Apart from their bizarre appearance, these pigs have another trait that made them even more popular: their meat, apparently, tastes delicious and is considered a delicacy.

How to Optimize Celcom Broadband Connection

It’s crucial to set up your Celcom Broadband connection at optimal setting so that you can get the best out of it. Here are simple ways on how you can improve your Celcom wireless broadband internet connection.

1) Improve the signal

Assuming that your modem and laptop is located inside a building, the transmission of the 3G/HSDPA signals will be affected. You will need to get a long 15m/3m usb cable so that you can put your USB 3G modem near the roof in order to improve the signal that the device receives from telco’s transmitter. I bought one during Pikom PC Fair and the 3m USB cable costed me an affordable RM15 (USD 4.2) with a life-time warranty.

Important! Keep your modem in a cool place and prevent it from getting hit by raindrops. High temperature and moisture might damage your modem.

Result:

2) Optimize your modem setting

This is the setting that is often left unoptimized. Here’s a quick fix to it.

  1. Right click on My Computer then click on Manage.
  2. Go to Device Manager -> Modem ->
  3. Right click on your 3G USB Modem and choose Properties
  4. Go to Modem tab, adjust maximum Port Speed to the max. Save the new setting by clicking OK.

3) Upgrade your modem firmware

This can be done by referring to the instructions by the modem manufacture. Go to your respective modem manufacture website to find out how to do it.

One of the benefit is you might be able to uplift the download speed limit for your modem, for example 7.2Mbps instead of the conventional 3.6Mbps (Huawei E220). Upgrading the firmware also often improve the overall performance of your device.

How important is alexa ranking.

alexa ranking

My last post about Deaf and non-Deaf can learn how improve alexa ranking, stated everything about alexa ranking and now will give deaf and non-deaf people some tips about how to improve your alexa ranking. If you want to boost your Alexa traffic ranking, you just have to follow some quite simple rules, such as:

Honest ways

  • Download and install the Alexa toolbar and then surf your own site.
  • Place the Alexa widget on your Web site. It will entice visitors to check it out and, you know, each click counts.
  • Write useful, quality content, mostly webmaster-related. Promote it on webmaster forums and on social networking sites. The idea is to get as many computer and Internet savvy people as possible to visit your site, since the probability that they will have the Alexa toolbar installed is high.
  • Write blogs and articles about Alexa. You will get links to your pages that will help improve your ranking.
  • Try to get your articles on such blog sites as digg.com, del.icio.us, or www.stumbleupon.com
  • Optimize your site (or relevant pages of it) for Alexa related keywords.
  • Tell your friends about the Alexa toolbar, have them download and install it on their computers, and then tell them to visit your site.
  • Use an Alexa redirect. This means placing http://redirect.alexa.com/redirect? in front of your Web site’s URL. Alexa will then take into consideration clicks on redirected links even if the visitor does not have the Alexa toolbar. Example: http://redirect.alexa.com/redirect?www.googlelady.com
  • Apparently, Asian people are huge fans of Alexa. Therefore, many people suggest posting in Asian social networking forums.
  • Whenever you post on webmaster forums, include your site’s URL in your signature. It is very likely that most webmasters have the toolbar installed, and there’s a great probability that they’ll visit your site.

Bad ways

In how to improve alexa rank, it mentioned that the system can be gamed (or fooled), here are some ways to do it but IS NOT RECOMMENDED (this is just for educational purpose ONLY).

  • If you have a cafe internet or a friend that has one, install on each computer the alexa toolbar and make your site the default one.
  • Use some alexa autosurf: Check the list here but this method is not recommended in anyways because it will affect your Google ranking. Google states that those type of traffic are garbage.
  • There are many scripts that can boost your alexa ranking. Those scripts uses multiple proxy servers to create unlimited traffic(visitors) to your website. You can download it Here, check here and Google results

iPhone 4 to Get First Mobile Video Relay Service for Deaf Users

Apple’s face-to-face video chat for the iPhone 4, FaceTime, has been the word on the lips of many people recently, for reasons from its touching commercials. But beyond showing off haircuts and braces, the service is creating a lot of buzz in another community entirely: the deaf.

Video relay service provider ZVRS has announced what it says is the world’s first mobile VRS using Apple’s FaceTime app – a move that is likely to make the iPhone 4 the smartphone of choice for the deaf community. For the first time, deaf and hearing-impaired callers will be able to communicate not only with each other, but also with hearing individuals while they’re on the go.

While the technology behind a VRS is relatively simple, until now the service required its users to have a laptop or desktop computer with a webcam. For those of you unfamiliar with a VRS, the company gives a succinct explanation:

VRS allows deaf and hard of hearing individuals to have telephone conversations with hearing people. Using a videophone with real-time video connection, an interpreter “relays” the conversation between the two parties: voicing what the deaf person is signing to the hearing caller and translating the spoken words into American Sign Language for the deaf/hard of hearing caller to see.

According to Tamara Suiter-Ocuto, a deaf iPhone user, the iPhone 4, with its face-to-face chat capability, has already made a big splash among deaf users.

“Having FaceTime on iPhone 4 is a huge thing in the deaf community, because its the very first time any deaf individual can make a phone call to another deaf individual on their phones,” she wrote in an email. “Before, we only could communicate with each other using email, text or IM.”

Suiter-Ocuto told us that almost all of her friends have upgraded from older version iPhones to enjoy the new video capabilities, and she and her husband are no exception.

“We decided to upgrade both of our phones, even though our current iPhones are working just fine, but we both are deaf and wanted to be able to call each other whenever we’re apart,” wrote Suiter-Ocuto. “It just isn’t the same texting/e-mailing each other.”

While FaceTime will offer a much more mobile experience than any previous offering for deaf users, it does have the limitation of only operating over Wi-Fi networks and not over AT&T’s 3G. We asked ZVRS if this limitation might be lifted for its services, but have not received any response.

Details on the upcoming service are a bit light, but we know that it will launch on July 26, the 20th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act. For more information, you can sign up on the company’s mailing list.

A fear of Friday the 13th, how unlucky is it.

When the 13th of the month falls on a Friday, do you join the 21 million Americans who suffer paraskevidekatriaphobia?

This year, August 13 falls on a Friday. Most travelers will hop on planes and check into hotels without hesitating. But those who suffer from paraskevidekatriaphobia, a fear of Friday the 13th, will proceed with caution or may even opt to stay home.

“Some 21 million Americans suffer from the condition,” says Donald Dossey, a behavioral scientist specializing in the treatment of phobias and credited with coining the term paraskevidekatriaphobia. “I have treated patients who won’t even get out of bed on Friday the 13th.”

Should you avoid traveling on this date? In 1993, the British Medical Journal conducted a study of automobile travel on Friday the 13th. They found that fewer people chose to drive on the “unlucky” day, but the number of hospital admissions due to car accidents rose. They concluded that “Friday the 13th is unlucky for some. The risk of hospital admission as a result of a transport accident may be increased by as much as 52 percent. Staying at home is recommended.”

Travelers don’t seem to be following this advice, according to the U.S. travel industry. Continental Airlines spokeswoman Julie King says that Friday the 13th is likely to be as busy as any other Friday—but she goes on to say that none of Continental’s planes have a Row 13. Similarly, Delta Air Lines spokesman Anthony L. Black says that Friday the 13th is like all other hectic Fridays. But Delta ticket agent Cassandra Dozier says that at least twice a month passengers request to not be seated in Row 13, which the carrier does number on its planes.

Fairmont Hotels spokesman Mike Taylor says that the company doesn’t experience a noticeable drop in occupancy on Friday the 13th. But he adds that six of the chain’s eight American high-rise hotels don’t have a 13th floor. However, at the Fairmont Hotel in Vancouver, B.C., Room 1313 is frequently requested by guests who believe that the number is actually good luck.

What can causes Deafness in Cats

What Causes Deafness in Cats?

Deafness in cats can come from many problems. Although we often associate it with old age, and may even be unaware that a cat is going deaf, some are born deaf and others develop hearing problems.

White cats with blue eyes are often deaf. White cats with one blue eye are often deaf in the ear on the same side as the blue eye.

Kittens who suffer from bad cases of ear mites can experience temporary deafness due to the blockage in their ears, if untreated they can become permanently deaf in one or both ears.

Cats, or kittens, who have lost their ears due to extremely cold weather (frost bite) may also be deaf in one or both ears.

Trauma, or abuse, can also lead to deafness.

Age related hearing loss is also something cats experience and will often meow more when losing their hearing.

How to Determine if a Cat is Deaf?

There are several ways of determining if a cat is deaf, one is to clap your hands behind the cats head. The cat might respond if it feels the air moving due to the force of the clap, a snapping of the fingers can be used just behind either ear, but some cats would ignore this anyhow.

The best test is the vacuum test. When the cat cannot see the vacuum, or when it is sleeping, turn it on. Most cats are frightened by the sound and will flee if not deaf.

Other similar tests can be done, or a veterinarian can be contacted for an ear exam.

Cockfighting rears its ugly head

PETALING JAYA, MALAYSIA : The heinous blood sport of cockfighting, where two roosters fight each other to death, is believed to be increasing in popularity in Indonesian settlements in the Klang Valley.

It was learnt that on weekends, cockpits or battle rings in these settlements or kongsi at certain construction sites become the centre for a cruel form of betting involving thousands of ringgit.

The punters also include locals and individual bets are said to run into thousands, indicating the hand of organised betting syndicates.

The matter came to light after police broke up a cockfight organised by some Indonesians at an undergrowth in Bandar Puteri Puchong on Sunday.

During the raid, 16 Indonesian and seven locals were arrested. In the raid too, about 21 fighting roosters were rescued and RM15,571, believed to be betting money, was seized.

Bukit Aman Anti-Vice, Gambling and Secret Societies operations chief Supt Maszely Minhad said cockfighting in the area was believed have been active the past three months. He said police were monitoring other construction sites to ascertain if similar activities were being conducted.

Maszely said cockfighting here was popular among Indonesians but did not discount its popularity among other foreign nationals.

Police warned while cockfighting was illegal, it was also illegal to possess any fighting equipment designed for the blood sport.

Animal welfare and animal rights activists, in response to the latest case, said seeing adults relish such brutality can teach kids to enjoy violence and think animal suffering is okay. They urged toughening up of laws to check animal abuse and prevent cockfighting from becoming a major gambling activity.

Bloody fight to the finish

LEFT to themselves, roosters almost never hurt each other.

In cockfights, on the other hand, the birds often wear razor-sharp blades on their legs and get injuries like punctured lungs, broken bones and pierced eyes — when they even survive.

In a cockfight, two roosters fight each other to the death while people place bets.

Their owners let the birds suffer untreated injuries or throw the birds away like trash afterwards.

The combatants, aptly referred to as gamecocks, are specially bred birds, conditioned for increased stamina and strength.

They are trained to be extremely aggressive towards other cocks and are equipped with either metal spikes called gaffs or knives, tied to the leg so as to inflict wounds on the opponent during the fight.

The spikes range in length from just over an inch to almost two and a half inches.
